Rumor Has It...

I've heard from a number of people that sometimes after a shave, a full head of hair won't come back as thick.

I heard that from my brother who shaved his head after my sister's cancer (I didn't because I was in Germany and didn't want to be taken for a skin-head). According to him, his hair has never been the same.

A coworker also passed along a similiar story about his brother-in-law.

Not that I'm geting cold feet, mind.

Please comment on any related rumors!

I know that's something that Riley is worried about! But I don't really know too many people who've shaved their heads--so I'm not an expert on the hair growing back in.

I shave the top part of my head because it continues to grow, sparsely I'll admit, but once or twice a week I have to smooth it off. If it wasn't shaved, I would have these stringy wispy things on top of my head. Some of the fellows I work with have shaved their heads and their's have always grown back with what seems to be the same thickness and quality.

I have never thought about it. I guess if you have little to lose, the concern is not the same.

So Dad how old were you when you started going bald? I've just always thought that Dads should be bald because mine was. And I don't mind bald men--I think they can be very handsome.

I am not so sure what everybody's worried about. I mean if your hair doesn't grow back as thick there are several immediate benefits which I am sure Dennis will attest to. Less time wasted in front of the mirror grooming in the morning, savings on hair-care products, and most importantly your head becomes bat-proof making it ideal for spelunking!
I asked Cami the other day how she felt about me shaving my head. Before all of her all the male family members jumped on the shaving wagon she had been adament that I keep my gorgeous locks. Yet when I asked her the other day she seemed less adament and more open to the idea. How's that for a teaser. I guess you will have to stay tuned to see whether or not the locks stay or go...

If I remember right, (it's hard to remember that long ago), I was in my mid to late twenties when hair started to disappear and not return.

Doug, come on in, the water's fine.
